When I had initially come to the Gulf in 1993, people were hardly aware of the re-use of used mobil oil and were draining the oils into the sewerage or using it for burning purposes. We started collecting used oil and exporting it to India. In the year 1997, with the implementation of Basel Convention Act, there was a ban on the export of hazardous waste from one country to another. That was the time when we first put up our small recycling plant at Fujairah Freezone with a capacity of 50 tons.
We faced great difficulty in educating our suppliers who either generated or collected used oil and supplied it to us. They had lack of technical knowledge and would consider all used oil as one mix them all. In the year 2008, looking at the above problems Vision Recycling & Reprocessing Industry LLC was incepted. The company achieved remarkable growth and progress with great strides into effective and safe management and recycling of used oil. The Company complied with the highest international standards in a significantly developing sector.
In line with the United Arab Emirates environmental plan and in order to keep up with the efforts of enhancing the services offered by the Emirate, the Company was keen to develop and implement sustainable and integrated programs and systems that keep pace with the global advancement in waste oil management. We have achieved excellent and tangible results by implementing plans aimed at modernizing and developing the waste oil management process in different concerned sectors in the Emirate. We have also adopted the best public health approaches and methodologies, thus contributing in the Government’s strategic goal of sustaining the environment and optimally utilizing the natural resources.
In addition to the above mentioned results, the waste oil management projects and the plants developed for implementing them were able to transform waste oil from an exclusive service project to an industrial one. By using sustainable and integrated systems that comply with the best international standards, Vision Recycling & Reprocessing Industry LLC seeks to align its core objectives to support the vision of the Government of the United Arab Emirates.
